Who are we
Salem is a community based child care centre under the auspices of the Uniting Church in Australia. UnitingCare Children's Services is one of the largest community based children's services providers in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.
Locally, the service is managed by a management committee comprising members of Tuggeranong Uniting Church, and representatives of the parents. The management committee is responsible for two centres: Salem Children's Centre at Kambah, and Bunyarra Children's Centre at Chisholm.
The buildings in which we operate are owned by the ACT government.
Our Name
The name "Salem" is drawn from a bible story where Jesus blesses the little children in the village of Salem . Read the story in the Gospel of Mark: 10:13-16
